The High Commission of Great Britain has sought consular access to the Britisher Christian Michel, who was sent on a 5-days custody of the CBI on Wednesday, a day after he was brought back to India to face the investigation from the UAE. Michel is accused of Rs. 3600 crore AgustaWestland chopper deal case.

A spokesman of the British High Commission said that the information has been sought urgently from the Indian authorities on Michel’s “Circumstances”. Another official report that “we have sought consular access to Michel.”

The spokesman continued, “Our staff continues to support the family of a British man following his detention in the UAE. We are in contact with his family and the Emirati authorities regarding his case, and are urgently seeking information from the Indian authorities on his circumstances.”

The accused ‘middleman’ Michel was brought to India on Tuesday night, following his extradition from UAE in having links with the AgustaWestland chopper deal. On Wednesday, the Delhi High Court has remanded Michel in 5-days CBI custody.
