London (News Service) An underground train station was prey to a minor explosion in London on late Tuesday. The outburst injured five people however, they were in a state of recovery. The British police said that an electrical short circuit was the prime cause of the explosion.
The station was closed down and the emergency services were pushed on to rescue. “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of the reported explosion, which appears to have been minor. We are not aware of any serious injury,” – said the London police.
“We do not believe this to be terror related at time,” – tweeted the British transport police.
A probe into the matter proved that the explosion took place due to a “battery short circuit”.
As per the ambulance services of the state, two people were rushed to the hospital while three other were given emergency aid at the accident spot.
