On Monday, a 22-year-old man has died after suffering gunshot and knife injuries in East London.

The victim was attacked in Manor Park’s Church Road, Newham, shortly ahead of 21:30 BST.

The Metropolitan Police Officers found that the victim has suffered from his wounds and was noticeable dead at the spot.

No arrests have been made yet, but the police believed that the victim was attacked by three males.

Det Inspector Alison Cole said that “at this early stage we believe that the victim was approached by three males who inflicted the injuries and fled in the direction of Browning Road.”

An eyewitness reported that the victim’s mother has visited the incident spot after the attack.

49-year-old Uddin Gias said that “Two Somalian boys were standing by the police tape – they told me his mother was in a parked car just there”.

The CCTV footage from a local convenience store has shown four-man running from the spot at 21:25.

One person in tan trousers has run ahead, following three others in the dark clothing but their faces were concealed by the store’s shade.

A passerby, who didn’t disclose his name, claims that there had been “issues going on for a couple of days” in the area.

Police have also been offered a Section 60 order, given them increased stop as well as search powers in Newham today at  13:30.

Newham’s Mayor Rokhsana Fiaz tweeted, “My deepest condolences to his family today following a devastating incident last night.”
