According to the police, the woman is believed to have been around eight months pregnant at the time of her death.

London’s Metropolitan Police service said the paramedics delivered the baby was taken to hospital and is in critical condition. However, the gender of the baby has not been revealed. Police have already arrested two men in connection with the attack but provided not the identity of the accused.

The motive of the attack is being investigated by the police and they have appealed to the public and neighbors for information. Detective Chief Inspector Mick Norman said, “This is a horrific incident in which a young mother has lost her life and her child is critically ill.”

“At the forefront of our inquiries is understanding what exactly has lead to these tragic circumstances, and we are doing everything we can to establish the facts,” he added. My heart goes out to this innocent child, and to the mother they have so tragically lost.”

Croydon police said yesterday that they have increased the security level in the area and providing reassurance after the attack. Forensic and police are thoroughly investigating the crime place at the address in Thornton Heath in south London.
