A collision involves multi-vehicles has forced the shut down of M6 motorway in Cheshire.
The unexpected crash led to a huge diesel fuel spillage across the motorway, which closed in northbound between the junctions of 17 and 18, said Highways England.
North West Motorway Police Officers have been present at the scene since the crash took place at around 22:30 GMT on Monday.
After the collision, drivers are diverted off the M6 motorway, between Holmes Chapel and Sandbach.
Highways England reports that “recovery contractors and road engineers are on scene and working to get the lanes open as soon as it is safe.”
It also warned drivers that the diversion of the route included a low bridge on A50 in Holmes Chapel with a 5m (16ft) height restriction.
However, it’s not yet clear that how many numbers of vehicles were involved in the crash or reports of any casualties or dead.
