On Thursday, a 22-year-old man has been detained after found scaling the gates of Buckingham Palace, the residence of Queen Elizabeth II, report officials.

The convict was unarmed, was arrested at 2:00 AM (0100 GMT) on July 10 and the incident is being considered as a terror, said the police.

Sources reported that the convict was on the loose in the grounds of Buckingham Palace for around four minutes and above, ahead of the arrest.

A spokesperson of the Buckingham Palace has also confirmed that the Queen was staying at the palace. On Wednesday, Queen Elizabeth II held her weekly meeting with the UK Prime Minister Theresa May.

There have been several security violations in and around the grand palace over years.

Most popular was in 1982, when Michael Fagan entered Queen Elizabeth’s private chambers while she was lying in the bed.

In 2018, a homeless man has scaled the walls and bedded down for the night in the grounds of the palace before being detained.
