Love Island actress Sophie Garden has hanged herself after drinking alcohol and intaking cocaine, found a coroner.
The victim appeared in the second series of 2016 reality show, was discovered dead at her residence in Ponteland, Northumberland, by his brother and her boyfriend last June, an inquest reported.
There was no proof of any third-party involvement in the dead of the 32-year-old star, said Coroner Eric Armstrong.
Toxicology tests report that Gradon had a blood reading of 201 mg per 100 ml of blood, which is around three times the legal driving limit, other than cocaine.
Research reports have found that combining alcohol and drugs can make someone 16 times more expected to take their own life, added Mr. Armstrong.
He continued, “If Sophie’s death is to serve any purpose at all, that message should go out far and wide.”
Mr. Armstrong’s conclusion stated that “Sophie Hannah Gradon, having consumed alcohol and cocaine, took her own life by hanging.”
Her boyfriend, Aaron Armstrong has also confirmed the news of her death on Facebook, claims he was “absolutely devastated”.
Recently, the couple had returned from a holiday in southern France, after the celebration of his birthday party.
Gradon’s Facebook post reads, “Having a magical time… first time in Antibes and I’m blown away by the beauty of the place.”
Following the news of her death, Love Island presenter Caroline Flack has tweeted: “So very sad. Such a beautiful soul, such a beautiful smile.”
